Plastic pollution has reached crisis levels globally, impacting our waterways, oceans, beaches and making its way into food webs. Because of the severity of the issue, many research and education efforts are focusing on one of the most insidious forms of plastic pollution- microplastics- small plastic pieces 1-5mm in size. For the past three years, New Hampshire Sea Grant and Blue Ocean Society have been studying microplastics on local beaches. Dr. Gabriela Bradt from NH Sea Grant will discuss the results of this study and how you can help.
