The North Church of Portsmouth is hosting an art sale at 2 Congress Street in Market Square that features Haitian paintings, handicrafts, ironwork and silk scarves (www.artworksforhaiti.com
). This sale is scheduled for Friday July 28th from 2-6pm and Saturday, July 29th from 12-4pm. The sale is a joint effort of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Newcastle, Maine and North Church of Portsmouth. Proceeds of the sale will support St. Andrew’s mission in the poor village of Figaro in northwest Haiti where it has built a new school, pays teachers’ salaries, and buys school supplies. The North Church will use their share of the proceeds to support their partnership with the UCC Church in Marondara, Zimbabwe where the first permanent building is being constructed.
