Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra’s Get Cozy with the PSO’s Chamber Music Series continues Sunday, March 26, 2017 with “Flute and Harp” at the Kittery Dance Hall. The performance starts at 3:00pm. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. “Flute and Harp” explores modern music performed on two of the most ancient instruments in the world. Flutist Ellen Rondina and harpist Erica Driscoll from the Portsmouth Symphony will showcase unorthodox methods of playing, including extended techniques. The selections stretch the performers and the audience beyond expectations, inviting all participants to listen differently, as this music is alive and subject to change during each performance. The compositions were all written in the later part of the 20th century and include pieces without time signatures and barlines, dance in the form of tango, percussive techniques, and the playing of a painting.
