    The nonprofit Gundalow Company seeks a Development Coordinator to implement plans to significantly enhance memberships, sponsorships, and events. This year-round position works with office staff, boat crew, a board of directors and volunteers through a variety of activities related to our sailing programs and community events. The ideal candidate will have strong nonprofit development and event planning experience along with marketing and communication skills.
    • Assist Executive Director and board committees with donor development work plans
    • Boost existing events to the next level of donor engagement
    • Manage gift processing, donor correspondence, & acknowledgement letters through our donor database
    • Increase new memberships, sponsorships and annual fund contributions   
    • Assist Operations Manager with event and membership marketing
    • A passion for our mission
    • 4-year Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising and donor relations
    • Experience in designing event materials, email marketing copy, and membership appeals
    • Must be driven to increase revenue through increased sponsorships and events
    • Knowledge of the maritime heritage of the Seacoast NH and Southeastern Maine areas
    • Familiarity with regional nonprofits focused on the environmental condition of the Piscataqua watershed
    • This is a year-round position. Sailing events occur May through October, with additional fundraising events throughout the off-season.
    • Scheduling and hours may be flexible. This position requires at least 3 days a week.
    • Salary commensurate with experience, on par with similar sized non-profits regionally.
                    The nonprofit Gundalow Company’s mission is to protect the Piscataqua region’s maritime heritage and environment through education and action. To fulfill our mission, we use a traditional wooden gundalow as our floating/sailing classroom. Having completed seven years with around 3,000 sailing trips on the Piscataqua River, the organization is looking to increase our brand awareness, event offerings, and membership base to provide the essential funding required to support our education programs.
