Bank of America makes ‘Critical Needs’ grant to Families First
The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently granted $17,500 to Families First Health & Support Center. Awarded under the foundation’s “Basic Needs” funding priority, the grant will be used toward salaries of care coordinators, insurance enrollment assisters, and medication assistance program staff at the community health center.
The grant is part of the foundation’s ongoing investment in addressing both immediate critical needs and longer-term solutions that promote financial wellness through access to benefits and resources.
“It takes a lot of expertise to know what benefits and community services are available to help people meet their basic needs and to navigate the systems for obtaining them,” says Families First Executive Director Helen Taft. “I appreciate the foundation’s interest in devoting resources to these services, which are so key in helping more people transition to financial independence.”
Bank of America has supported Families First annually since 2005. This year’s grant award was larger than past grants by $2,500 and coincided with #Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving held on Nov. 29 this year.
“We know individuals and families are facing significant challenges that threaten their economic stability,” says Kenneth R. Sheldon, Bank of America New Hampshire State President. “We are proud of our continued support of Families First and the great work they do to help people receive the services they need and make lives better in communities across the state.”
