The City of Portsmouth will be expanding the parking lot at Four Tree Island prior to the opening of the Peirce Island Outdoor Pool season in order to increase parking capacity throughout the summer. This project will offset the loss of the pool parking lot during construction of the Peirce Island Wastewater Treatment Facility upgrade.

The Four Tree Island parking lot area will be increased in size and reconfigured to nearly double the number of parking spots. The work will incorporate additional improvements to stormwater handling and landscaping, and the grassed area adjacent to the existing boat ramp will be constructed to improve parking for that area as well.

In order to complete the modifications prior to the summer pool season, the Four Tree Island parking lot and boat launch area will be under construction starting the week of May 8, 2017 to the week of June 19, 2017. On Monday, May 8, 2017, the contractor will be closing the parking lot for construction. There will be planned Saturday construction on May 20, 2017 and June 3, 2017 in order to meet the completion deadline.

Pedestrian Access to Four Tree Island will be maintained.
