  • Demers Joins Cookson Strategic Communications as Project Manager

    Kalakonas promoted to senior director of communications and client engagement
    Manchester, NH – Cookson Strategic Communications (CSC) – a visibility-focused communications agency with expertise in public relations, social media, marketing, design and branding – welcomes Julie Demers as the newest member of its growing team and promotes Dia Kalakonas to senior director of communications and client engagement.

    As project manager, Demers will initially be taking a lead role on the Sector Partnership Initiative (SPI) workforce development grant and supporting some key membership functions for the New Hampshire High Tech Council, which is managed by CSC. As Senior Director of Communications and Client Engagement, Kalakonas will play a leadership role managing client relations and overseeing the company’s public relations activities.

    Demers received her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from High Point University and is currently completing her Master of Public Administration at the University of New Hampshire. Demers has worked as program director for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, as public relations program coordinator for the University of New Hampshire and is co-owner of Barre Life, LLC.

    Kalakonas received her Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Marketing from the University of New Hampshire and her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Prior to her promotion, Kalakonas served as director of strategic communications with CSC for over three and a half years. Her background includes roles as the director of public relations and communications at New England College, marketing and communications at Catholic Medical Center, and operations and marketing at a multi-specialty surgical center in Bedford.
