FOUNDATION FOR SEACOAST HEALTH AWARDS 2018 SCHOLARSHIPS
May 27, 2018—Portsmouth, NH - The Foundation for Seacoast Health recently awarded four scholarships to Seacoast area students. As leaders in the advancement of a healthy Seacoast community, these scholarships are just one of the Foundation for Seacoast Health’s initiatives to promote the well-being of its residents and the community. Those eligible for the scholarships must be candidates who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a health-related field of study. The awards are based primarily on scholastic performance, personal achievements, leadership, and community involvement. The Foundation of Seacoast Health is so excited to announce the recipients of this year’s awards below.
The Edwina Foye Scholarship Award for $2,500 goes to Rebecca Thompson.
Selected recipient Rebecca Thompson, a resident of Eliot, ME, will be entering her first year in the Masters in Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of New Hampshire. The award was established in 1986 by colleagues, friends, and family to honor the memory of Edwina Foye, RN, who dedicated 25 years of service to Portsmouth Hospital (1952-1978) and is awarded to a graduate student with the highest academic achievement and personal accomplishments.
The Steven Cutter Scholarship Award for $4,668 goes to Brigette Durham Golter
Selected recipient Brigette Durham Golter, a resident of Kittery, ME, will be entering her first year in the Nursing program at Southern Maine Community College this fall. This award was established by the Foundation for Seacoast Health Board of Trustees in memory of Steven Scott Cutter, son of Nancy L. Cutter, a long-time Foundation employee.
$2,500 Scholarship Award goes to Alexandria Fratamico
Alexandria Fratamico, a resident of Portsmouth, will be entering her third year in the pre-medical health science program at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences this fall.
$1,000 Scholarship Award goes to Gabriella Matheny
Gabriella Matheny, a resident of Greenland, will be entering her second year in the microbiology program at Ohio State University this fall.
Since its founding, the Foundation for Seacoast Health has proudly awarded over $2.17 million in scholarship support to Seacoast individuals.
The Foundation for Seacoast Health is a private foundation located in Portsmouth, NH. In addition to providing grants and scholarships to the Seacoast community, Foundation of Seacoast Health owns and operates the Community Campus.
