Greensky Bluegrass comes to River House Restaurant Concert Series on Friday, June 29th

Portsmouth, NH- On Friday, June 29th, Prescott Park Arts Festival will welcome Greensky Bluegrass to the Wilcox Main Stage as a part of the River House Restaurant Concert Series.

“There is a lot of excitement in the air as we continue to announce our River House Restaurant concerts,” said festival president, Ben Anderson. “It’s going to be a great summer, and the ability to present Greensky Bluegrass in the park is nothing short of exciting.”

Greensky Bluegrass have forged a defiant, powerful sound that, while rooted in classic stringband Americana, extends outwards with a fearless, exploratory zeal. The tension and release between these components – tradition and innovation, prearranged songs and improvisation, acoustic tones and electric volume – is what makes them so thrillingly dynamic, in concert and on record.
Their sound is seamless and organic, and a testament to Greensky’s enduring vision and tireless dedication. For more than a decade and a half, the members of Greensky Bluegrass have created their own version of bluegrass music, mixing the acoustic stomp of a stringband with the rule-breaking spirit of rock & roll.
Their latest and sixth release, Shouted, Written Down & Quoted, is Greensky Bluegrass at their best, fusing the fiery fretwork of their live shows with the focus of a true songwriting outfit.
As with all Festival events, concerts are free and open to the public with a suggested $8-$10 donation.
Prescott Park Arts Festival is not limited to concert experiences, but also offers a musical theatre production of Seussical beginning on Friday June 22nd through August 19th, and a soon-to-be-released Monday Night Movie Series presented by Wentworth-Douglass at Pease.
Reservations are currently open to the season members only, with the remainder of tables and blankets going on sale to the general public on April 27.
Reservation information for all events can be found on the Festival website, www.prescottpark.org. Tables on the VIP Seating Deck are available for reservations, in addition to the blanket reservations in front of the Wilcox Main Stage. Special discount pricing is available for Festival members. Space is limited.
