DOVER - The Children's Museum of New Hampshire's monthly Alzheimer's Cafe, held the third Thursday of every month, had some festive visitors this December.

Brandi Chagnon and Tracy Gillick from Easterseals Homemakers & Health Services provided gingerbread cookies and brownie Christmas trees for the participants to decorate. The sweet treats were followed by a special performance by three members of Journey Song, a volunteer group who provide music to hospice centers and families. Jane, Julien and Olivier led the group in traditional holiday songs, getting everyone in on the fun with a joyful rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas.

The Alzheimer's Cafe is designed for people living with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, their family members and care partners. Every third Thursday of each month people can gather in a supportive, non-clinical setting to chat, relax and socialize while enjoying complimentary refreshments. Reservations are not needed and there is no cost to attend, though donations are accepted. The next Alzheimer's Cafe is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m., 2019 at the Children's Museum of NH, 6 Washington St., Dover. Visit www.childrens-museum.org for information. Alzheimer's Cafe is sponsored by LTC Partners and Wentworth Senior Living.
