    No School? No Problem!
February Vacation Weeks Bring Cozy Pajamas, Dino Fossils and Dr. Seuss

to the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire

Dover, NH (January 29, 2018) – What do pajamas, dinosaurs, and Dr. Seuss all have in common? They’re all part of the fun happening at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire during the last two weeks of February to help families in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire celebrate their school vacation weeks.
The museum has planned several theme days like Dino Day happening on both Tuesday, February 20th and 27 during which visitors can enjoy dinosaur and fossil themed crafts, games and story times, along with a dino-themed scavenger hunt that ends with a prize. Then there is Pajama Day happening both Friday, February 23 and March 2 when families are invited to come play in the museum in their coziest pajamas and enjoy night-themed storytimes. Kids can learn about nocturnal animal sounds, make a special owl craft and more.

Then to kick off the start of March, families can help celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a weekend, March 3 & 4, full of Truffle Tree crafts, a Seuss cup stacking challenge, a One-Fish-Two-Fish magnet fishing game, a “Horton Hears a Who” activity and of course, Seuss story times and a Seuss scavenger hunt.
In addition to the special theme days, the museum, which is normally closed on Mondays during the school year, will be open on Mondays February 19th and 26th from 10am-5pm.

And if you are looking for some drop-off day camps for your kids, ages 6 to 9, during the last week of February, you’ll want to check out the three camps the museum is offering. Art Day happens Tuesday, February 27 from 9am-noon and will feature some messy masterpiece creation. Science Day is Wednesday, February 28 from 9am-noon and will invite campers to try out some chemistry, create circuits and play a lemon piano! And finally Engineering Day takes place on Thursday, March 1st from 9am-noon and will be filled with creative engineering challenges. Vacation Camps are $30 per day for Members and $40 per day for Non-members. Sign up for all three days and it’s $85 for Members and $95 for Non-members.

“And if that weren’t enough,” said Meredith Lamothe, CMNH’s Early Childhood & Literacy Coordinator “OurFoodworks program that we do in collaboration with Hannaford happens this month on Wednesday, February 21 from 10:30am-12:30pm, when we’ll be offering samples of healthy on-the-go snacks. And of course our First Friday $3 After 3pm program, where people can visit for $3 per person anytime between 3-7pm, falls on Friday, March 2 which also happens to be our Pajama Day!”
All the theme day programs are free with museum admission. To learn more about the museum visit www.childrens-museum.org or call 603-742-2002.
