SALEM, N.H., Sept. 22, 2017 - Tuscan Kitchen & Market will host their fourth annual Open Bocce Tournament, a two-day event with 20 teams competing for a $1,500 grand prize.

The tournament will start with a round-robin event taking place on Saturday, Sept. 30th at 9:00 a.m. with the semi-finals taking place the next day, Sunday, Oct. 1st at 9:00 a.m. The tournament will consist of twenty teams with four players per team. All participants will receive team shirts.

A traditional Italian pastime, bocce is played with one small ball (pallino) and eight larger balls (bocci). The pallino is thrown first and becomes the target. The goal is to throw each bocce ball as close as possible to the pallino. Points are scored for those closest to the pallino.

    About Tuscan Brands
Founded by Chief Food Taster Joe Faro, Tuscan Brands is a culinary vehicle for sharing authentic, artisan Italian experiences through the ‘Holy Trinity’ of eating & drinking, shopping, and cooking. The first part of Faro’s vision, Tuscan Kitchen, opened in Salem, N.H., in 2010 as a destination for diners to eat & drink their way through Italy’s diverse regional cuisine, sampling the rustic breads of Tuscany with wood-fired Sicilian caponata, Neapolitan-style thin crust pizza, and fresh pasta from Bologna – all set against the backdrop of a masterfully-curated Old World wine selection. Tuscan Market followed in 2012 as a reimagined Italian marketplace to shop for freshly baked breads, handmade pastas, pastries, and gelato, as well as Italian wines, prepared foods, and imported Italian specialties. The Salem location also includes ‘La Scuola Culinaria,’ an onsite cooking school.
Tuscan Brands expanded to Burlington, Mass. in Fall 2014 with the opening of the second Tuscan Kitchen, while a third location was added in March 2017 in Portsmouth, N.H. that includes an attached Tuscan Market which features an array of specialty oils and sauces, fresh-sheeted pasta, imported cured meats and cheeses, Italian espresso and desserts. The market also offers a variety of prepared food items and ingredients and locally sourced produce and seafood. Tuscan’s next location, Tuscan Kitchen Seaport, is scheduled to open in Boston’s Seaport Square development in November 2017. And Tuscan Village, a new “live, work, play” development on 120 acres in Salem, N.H. is under development. For more, visit www.tuscanbrands.com.
