Industry participants will visit Portsmouth High School for two-hour interactive sessions with students.\n\n \n\nCulinary Arts Career Pathways Program\n\nWednesday\, December 4\, 2019 \n\n11:00 Welcome and Program Overview - Courtney Ritchings\, CTE Program Director & Chef Beth Brown\, CTE Program Instructor\n\n11:15 Classroom Assignment - Local professionals will work directly with a small group of students in the kitchen to prepare a dish they have been studying. Professionals will have an opportunity to enhance the dish and cook alongside with the students.\n\n12:00 Career Pathways Lunch - Enjoy the lunch prepared by the CTE Culinary Arts program while discussing local career opportunities\, education paths\, and providing mentorship to the students.\n\n12:45 Wrap up and thank you\n\n \n\nRestaurant and Hospitality Industry Program Overview\n\nThe Restaurant and Hospitality Industry is an exciting\, dynamic and rewarding field that offers a wide variety of opportunities. Our two-year program is nationally certified by ProStart. It offers a comprehensive curriculum including practical based learning activities in cooking\, baking\, catering and culinary competitions. Students completing the program will be prepared for immediate employment and/or continuing their education in a Culinary Arts or Restaurant Management Program.
