Description
The Players' Ring Mainstage season will open with the original comedy Duck and Cover by Michael Kimball, about a "Father Knows Best" family happily sheltered in 1962 suburbia, trying to maintain its innocence in the face of a massive culture change: racial integration, birth control pills, stereophonic rock 'n' roll, Vietnam, the threat of nuclear war, and an unexpected visit from eccentric trumpeter Uncle Bunny and his African-American partner, fresh from the jazz clubs of Paris.
Duck and Cover was the recipient of the 2014 John Gassner Memorial Playwriting Award, presented by the New England Theatre Conference and has also won "best Play" honors at the Northern Writes Festival and the Dezart Performs New Play Festival in CA.
