Portsmouth-based photographer Jay Goldsmith presents portraits of 30 local artists accompanied by a piece of their work. A wonderful celebration of local talent! Show opens Oct 23; Opening Reception: Friday, Nov. 6, 5pm-8pm during Art 'Round Town. Discover Portsmouth 10 Middle St., Portsmouth, NH Photographer Jay Goldsmith has photographed local artists and printed their portraits via the historic 19th century platinum/palladium (pt/pd) method. "In this digital age of inkjet printers and hundreds of manufactured papers, I have missed the hands-on aspect of traditional darkroom work, missed the achievement of a carefully crafted, sometimes idiosyncratic hand-made print. Learning this process has been expensive, frustrating, challenging, slow, often irksome, and time consuming! But it has been a project I love," said Goldsmith.
