The Children’s Museum of NH is offering families the unique opportunity to learn to grow their own salad garden. UNH Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Leslie Stevens, owner of Sidewalk Farms, will present a workshop on how to grow a salad garden at home. Participants will learn about how to site their garden, when to plant and how to care for seedlings. Everyone will help plant radishes, lettuce, spinach, kale and Swiss chard in the museum's raised bed gardens, and meet an "Easter Egg" chicken to see her colored eggs. This program is free thanks to sponsorship by Stonyfield but pre-registration is requested to ensure there are enough materials for all. Please call 603-742-2002 to register.
Additional gardening workshops are planned for May, June, July and September.
