Jared Steer is a well rounded performer who plays with a vast number of projects including Donkilo! (voted Best of NH Band in 2011), Bräsbe, The Randy Roos' Urethane, Ben Rudnick and Friends (numerous awards including several parents' choice awards), Bangkok Disco, The Dane Anderson Trio, WhiteSteer, The Jared Steer Trio, The Wayfarers, Davis and Deleault, The Rob Gerry Trio. Jared can be seen/heard with a number of different other projects as a freelance artist. He also has recorded on numerous albums with many of the region's top artists.
Jared has performed and or recorded with the likes of Shawn Monteiro (jazz vocalist), Randy Roos (guitar great), Philip Hamilton (Pat Metheny), Sayon Camara (master drummer from Guinea), Steve Rucker (Bee Gees), Steve Hunt (Alan Holdsworth), Pete Bremy (Vanilla Fudge), Matt Wilson (jazz great), James Montgomery (Blues Great), Buddy Cage (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Jeff Bird (Cowboy Junkies), Margo Timmons (Cowboy Junkies), Jerry Leake (percussion great), John Funkhouser (Boston Pianist, Berklee), Ed Lucie (Boston Bassist, Berklee), Namory Keita (Master Drummer from Guinea), Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead), Barry Mitterhoff (Hot Tuna), Lowman, Mike Bisio, Ken Kosek (Jerry Garcia, The Klezmer Mountain Boys), Kimberly Dahme (Boston), Keller Williams (Jam Band Great) Danny Wilde (The Rembrandts), Ernest Thompson (Film Great, Emmy Award Winner for "On Golden Pond"), Tony Sarno (Blood, Sweat and Tears), Bill Trujillo (Woody Herman), Bob McCarthy ( Boston Guitar Legend), Mighty Sam McClain (Blues Legend) and many others.

He has played at such noteable venues as The Lincoln Center, NYC; Symphony Space, NYC; The Hatch Shell, Boston, MA; The Discover Jazz Festival, Burlington, VT; 92 Y Tribeca, NYC; River Walk, Breckenridge, CO; Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Oak Hill, NY; The Regatta bar, Boston, MA; World Cafe Live, Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE; Live on Sirius Radio, Washington, D.C.,; Ryles Jazz Club, Cambridge, MA; House of Blues, Boston, MA; Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion, Gilford, NH; The Granite State Music Festival, Concord, NH; Verizon Wireless Arena, Manchester, NH; Life is Good Festivals, various locations, MA; Musikfest, Bethlehem, PA; and many other theaters and venues across the country.
He can also be heard on sirius/XM Radio, NPR, WERS Boston, and a number of local radio stations in NH, Boston and around the world. His band Ben Rudnick and Friends is featured on Putumayo World Records release of "A Jewish Celebration" with the song Hava Nagila. He can also be heard on award winning film maker Ernest Thompson's movie, "Time and Charges". He was featured on NH Chronicle with the band Ben Rudnick and Friends and has been featured with the same band in People Magazine as well as Jazz Times.
In addition to his busy performing schedule, Jared is a sought-after drum set/percussion instructor. Since 2001, Jared has maintained a full roster of private students at schools such as The Manchester Community Music School, New Hampton School, Inter-Lakes High School, Bedford Youth Performing Company, Sant Bani School, Holderness Prep School, and his home studio in New Hampton. Past students have been accepted into NHMEA Jazz All State, NHMEA All State , The Lakes Region Jazz Festival and colleges such as Berklee College of Music, The New School and SUNY Purchase.
He has a B.A. in performance from Plymouth State College and studied with Tim Gilmore and Eric C. Hughes. Post grad studies have been with Long time mentor Bob Gullotti, Jeff Ballard, Rakalam Bob Moses, Jerry Leake, Dave Dicenso, Steve Michaud and Roberto Vizcaino Guillot. He has taken master Classes with Matt Wilson, Horacio Hernandez, Giovanni Hidalgo, Jerome Dupree and Dave Mattacks.
