The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra’s final concert of the 2019 season presents music for all. This family-friendly classical features Rossini’s “La Scala di Seta” (the silken ladder), the witty overture from the famous Italian comic opera of the same name. Artist in Residence Billy Butler will perform, as well as the winner of the PSO Young Artist Concerto Competition, violinist Danilo Thurber. The concert (and the season) finishes with one of Stravinsky’s finest works: the Firebird Suite, the 1945 edition considered the best iteration of the work. This concert also features an instrument meet-and-greet for all ages to come learn more about the instruments heard in the concert. Join us before the show for a pretalk at 2pm
