Our Books Alive program features several visits per year by beloved children's book characters. At each event, there are stories read aloud, literacy activities, fun crafts and of course, periodic appearances by the characters. Kids are welcome to share a hug, handshake or high-five with each character and pose for photos.
Clifford the Big Red Dog is coming to visit! Generations of kids have shared Clifford’s adventures and have been inspired by his stories. Clifford has starred in 80 children’s books, a beloved PBS Kid’s show and is even the official mascot of Scholastic Books! Clifford is the perfect loveable dog to help children get excited about the act of reading. The museum’s Books Alive program seeks to make reading a regular family experience. Join Museum educators and a costumed Clifford as we read his stories throughout the day and engage in special crafts and activities celebrating literacy.
