Description
San Franciscan Thao Nguyen has recorded three acclaimed albums with her band, The Get Down Stay Down. As part of this alternative folk-rock group, she has been on a musical journey since starting to perform in her early teens in Northern Virginia. Delicate yet fierce in her vocal delivery, she writes often about her social concerns - and it was a trip to a California women's prison that inspired much of her latest album, We the Common. The album is raw and rollicking, homemade and reckless, 12 songs capturing this utterly unique writer and performer like never before. If you've never seen Thao Nguyen or heard her music, this is the perfect introduction.
