    The Production Lead oversees all aspects of production and delivery, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity goals are met.

    Responsibilities:

    • Safety
      • Under the direction of management, ensures compliance with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation, including health/safety procedures and guidelines for operation.
    • Production
      • Supervises and trains staff, providing guidance and cultivating a positive work environment, as well as implementing corrective actions when issues arise
      • Oversees quality control for all processes; verifies packaging and lot numbers
      • Monitors and reviews paperwork for all processes, tracking productivity and working to improve efficiency where possible; Ensures that required batch documentation is accurate, timely and complete
      • Keeps management up to date on production schedule, concerns or issues
      • Oversees all cleaning and sanitation efforts
      • Demonstrates the aptitude and skill to work in all areas of production; troubleshoots minor production line issues and performs relief duties when required
    • Planning and Inventory
      • Monitors supplies and raw material quantities and communicates needs to management in a timely manner so that stock shortages do not occur
      • Sets weekly and monthly production objectives in partnership with management
      • Creates and communicates weekly staff schedules
      • Organizes and maintains appropriate levels of finished goods inventory
      • Assists in monthly inventory counts
    • Equipment
      • Maintains an understanding of the equipment in all production areas in terms of set-up, breakdown, sanitation, safety and making necessary adjustments
      • Work with management to maintain equipment in good condition and repair
      • Safely operate a forklift after training is provided and certification is obtained
    • Shipments and Delivery
      • Prepares shipments for carriers, including building, wrapping and labeling pallets
      • Supervises delivery driver and assists with delivery preparation and paperwork
      • Oversees documentation associated with shipments and deliveries
      • Support management in other related duties, as required
    Requirements:
    • Supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong planning/organization and time management skills
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills involving a diverse workforce
    • Ability to manage change and constantly strive for improvement
    • Positive attitude and team mindset
    • Self-motivated and energized
    • Pride in the product and in the work
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Physical requirements:
      • Lift/carry up to 50-60 lbs on a consistent basis
      • Work with varying machinery and equipment
      • Stand or walk for long periods
      • Work at heights using rolling safety ladder to access inventory
      • Use computers, calculators and communication systems required to perform the job functions
    Schedule:
    Monday-Friday, 8am-2pm
    Compensation:

    $14-17/hr, commensurate with experience
