Seacoast Outright, Program Coordinator
For 29 years, Seacoast Outright has been serving, supporting, and advocating for LGBTQ youth in the Greater Seacoast Area of New Hampshire. We provide direct services in the form of weekly youth groups, conduct outreach and education, partner with other youth organizations, and sit on several steering committees to ensure the needs of our community are represented in NH and southern Maine.
We are seeking an energetic, mission-driven, creative Program Coordinator to deliver our current core programming and identify areas of need where future programming might be developed. As a new position at Seacoast Outright, this is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of the LGBTQ youth community of the Seacoast, to shape the organization, and expand its scope and reach.
This position is 40 hours per week, reporting to the Executive Director. While the majority of time will focus on programming, other tasks relevant to the overall welfare of the organization will also be required. With a small, yet dedicated group of Board members and volunteers, some events require all hands on deck. It is assumed that all Outright staff will participate in PRIDE and other annual events.
Existing and New Programming
· Deliver current programming including currently Tuesday Game Night and Friday Night Group, and weekday programming at area schools. In-person programming requires travel throughout the greater Seacoast NH area.
· Nurture and support our cadre of volunteer facilitators (including recruitment, vetting, scheduling and placement, and training), conducting and refining our training program and offering ongoing support to facilitators.
· Work with interns from Social Work programs (Masters and Bachelors) in their capacity as program facilitators and organizers.
· Work with Seacoast Outright staff to identify areas where new curricula are needed to support area elementary, middle, and high schools and contribute to development of responsive curricula and programming.
· Provide direct support to individual youth as needed, in the form of referrals and other resources
· Ensure proper documentation of meetings (youth emergency forms, notes from Friday Group, incident reports, etc) and communication among facilitators
· Develop more efficient evaluation and data management system to track youth participation and attendance. Evaluate statistics and program delivery and periodically present findings to Outright staff and Board.
· Act as staff liaison to Board Program Committee.
· Manage meeting sites. Secure and deliver meeting supplies as needed
· Develop program budget in concert with Executive Director
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in education, psychology, sociology, social work, or related field
· Two years of experience direct service work with youth
· Exposure to program development related to youth services in education, mental health, or related fields
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Able to manage confidential and sensitive information and use good judgment
· Able to multi-task, while prioritizing competing demands with limited time
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Slack, and willingness to learn new applications
· Able to work independently AND be a team player.
· Enthusiasm for networking with the other youth agencies
· Salary Range $37,440 to $41,600 per year
