PORTSMOUTH —  The Form + Function Artisan Fair returns to 3S Artspace on Nov. 16 and 17.

Featuring a showcase of hand-crafted work by more than 25 artisans and makers from the Seacoast and beyond, Form + Function transforms the gallery, performance space, and lobby at 3S Artspace into a holiday shopping marketplace of handmade finds.

Visitors can browse and shop for the gift-giving season in booths with curated items such as textiles, housewares, jewelry, metal-work, accessories, ceramics and prints.

“If you’re attending Form + Function for the first time, the curation of artisans and their offerings will definitely bring a shopping twinkle to your eye,” said Sara O’Reilly, marketing manager at 3S Artspace. “And if you’re coming back to shop for the second year in a row, you’ll certainly see some familiar favorites from last November, but with plenty of new artisans and endless new gift possibilities!”

“Since witnessing last year's great turnout and seeing how awesome the venue is, I've been really looking forward to this year's event,” said artisan Beau Taylor, Hilltop Spoonworks. “The caliber of other artists' skill, and knowledge of their mediums was great. I can't wait to return this year and see who will be there and what will be available.”

For a new fashionable twist in year two, 3S is welcoming six Project Upcycle fashion designers to sell their latest looks under the bright lights onstage in the performance space. Guests can browse their clothing racks to find one-of-a-kind pieces, from punk rock to elegant and classic lines-- all hand-crafted by talented designers who have previously competed in 3S Artspace’s Project Upcycle annual upcycled fashion design competition and runway event.

To add to the festive atmosphere, expect live local music and a cash bar throughout each day in this fun, family friendly two-day event. Form + Function is free and open to the public.

“I am honored to be a part of Form + Function again this November. 3S does an amazing job of curating this celebration of local designers, doers, and dreamers. The Portsmouth community is so supportive of the arts and of shopping small, local, and handmade. Plus there will be drinks, live music, and Barrio tacos. It is one of my very favorite shows of the year!” said jewelry artisan, Amy Vander Els.
