PORTSMOUTH—Greater Seacoast Community Health is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Segil, MD, will soon join the organization as director of Women’s Health Services, a new position at the community health center network.
Working at both Families First Health Center in Portsmouth and Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth, he will help to expand access to comprehensive women’s health care across the Seacoast region. Greater Seacoast Community Health has a strong reputation for its quality care for women, and Segil’s presence builds upon that foundation.
Segil brings nearly three decades of experience as a board-certified OB/GYN, with deep expertise in urogynecology, the management of incontinence and pelvic prolapse, and complex pelvic surgery. Before joining Greater Seacoast, Segil practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Dover since 1997. He founded and led Dover Women’s Health, later acquired by Mass General Brigham. He was among the first gynecologic surgeons in New England trained in robotic surgery and has been both a practitioner and educator in the field since 2005. In addition to his surgical specialties, Segil has a fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, reflecting his strong interest in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and menopause management.
Segil earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he served as Executive Chief Resident. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Prior to medical school, he conducted molecular biology research in tumor immunology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. He also holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. Dr. Segil has been recognized by his peers in New Hampshire as a New Hampshire Magazine Top Doctor.
“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Segil join our team,” said Jocelyn Caple, CEO, Greater Seacoast Community Health. “His extensive experience, leadership, and passion for women’s healthcare will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen and grow needed health services for our communities.”
When not caring for patients, Segil enjoys traveling, sailing, skiing, participating in surgical mission work, and spending time with his family.
