  • Chamber Collaborative to host Economic Outlook: The View from Here, one year from the date of the pandemic’s start

    PORTSMOUTH—The Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth invites its members and the public to Economic Outlook 2021: The View from Here presented by CIT Bank on Tuesday, April 6.

    The event will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., in person by invitation and livestreaming via Crowdcast and. The forum’s presenters include Will Arvelo, director, New Hampshire Division of Economic Development and Jeff Feingold, editor, NH Business Review, the Granite State's oldest and only statewide business newspaper. Ben VanCamp, VP of What’s Next at the Chamber Collaborative will be hosting from the Seacoast Repertory Theatre.

     

    In addition, restaurateur Jay McSharry will join the event McSharry holds ownership in Dos Amigos Burritos, Moxy, White Heron Tea, Vida Cantina, Franklin Oyster House and Liars Bench Beer Company in Portsmouth, as well as Ore Nells in Kittery, Maine, and is owner of the Sailmaker’s House and the Water Street Inn.

     

    To say a lot has happened since our last Economic Outlook on March 10, 2020 would not say nearly enough. Arvelo and Feingold last spoke on the precipice of the Covid crisis, as the World Health Organization (The WHO) declared a global pandemic the very next day —on March 11. The State of NH issued an emergency declaration on March 13.

    Ben VanCamp, the Chamber’s vice president and host of the Economic Outlook, said, "much has changed in the past year but the entrepreneurial spirit in Portsmouth remains stronger today than ever. Join us as we explore the path forward with local and state experts.”
