It is certainly an understatement to say that our lives have been upended. Our challenge is, and will continue to be, approaching rote tasks with ingenuity and creativity as we attempt to regain normalcy.
Of course you have seen all of the reports about live theaters. Some will survive; some will not. Needless to say, ingenuity and creativity will be essential as the art form attempts its reconstruction.
A dedicated Ring Board and corps of volunteers have been discussing the hows-and-whens of reopening. We have a stellar slate of original and published works awaiting production by a talented, enthusiastic and committed group of theater artists. But when? And how? This is where we need two minutes of your time.
You’ve read about the measures theaters are implementing as they plan to reopen, so I needn’t go into detail. We subscribe to the same policies: mask requirements, cashless transactions, assigned and limited seating, sanitation procedures, additional theater access points, small casts, and the list goes on. But what we don’t know, and what we need to know, is will you come?
Each day, it seems, there is new information about this virus and the rules are being rewritten. So it is understood that today’s response may not be the same as tomorrow’s response. We recognize this and ask you to respond based on the current situation. As more information emerges, we will reassess and may ask this favor of you again.
Thank you in advance for your input. (Questionnaire responding time: 2 mins).
