  • Northeast Credit Union Hosts Second Annual Nice Catch – Celebrating Kind Kids Initiative

PORTSMOUTH–Northeast Credit Union (NECU) believes at the heart of every community are good people doing good things. NECU has partnered with The New Hampshire Fisher Cats and The Portland Sea Dogs to host their second annual “Nice Catch - Celebrating Kind Kids” Initiative to recognize New Hampshire and Maine kids who consistently demonstrate compassion, empathy and kindness toward their peers, teachers, coaches, family and other community members and who go above and beyond to make our communities kinder and brighter places.

“It’s more important than ever to shine the light on the kind and caring young people striving to make a difference in our communities,” said Northeast Credit Union President and CEO Timothy J. Collia. “We believe that by recognizing these kids and making a positive example of them, it will inspire others to make positive changes in their communities, regardless of their age.”

The Nice Catch Initiative encourages teachers, coaches, youth leaders, community members and family members to nominate kids age 18 and younger who consistently exhibit acts of kindness, empathy and overall helpfulness to make their communities a better and brighter place.  Submissions can be made online at thelyc.com/nicecatch.

Thirteen Grand Prize Winners were selected this past spring from the nominations received.  Winners experienced a special game day celebration at either a New Hampshire Fisher Cats or Portland Sea Dogs home game including ten tickets for themselves as well as family and friends to attend. Each “kind kid” received a special on-field shout out and was invited to throw out a ceremonial first pitch and receive a Northeast Credit Union prize bag.
