PORTSMOUTH -- Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity was the recipient of the proceeds from Springer’s Jewelers Annual Holiday Party raffle on Nov. 14 at 100 Market Street. An elegant evening brought many Springer’s Jewelers customers out to enjoy great food and beverages, while filling their wish lists for the coming holidays.
The funds raised through the raffle and a matching donation from Springer’s Jewelers raised more than $3,000. that will go to help build Habitat’s newest home in Dover. House recipients, the Turcotte family are both veterans with two young children. They will help to build their home through sweat equity hours and at closing will receive a zero percent interest mortgage, held by Habitat.
Executive Director Marcie Bergan said, “We are so blessed to have the opportunity to partner with Springer’s Jewelers. When Berry McGeary invited us to participate there was no hesitation. I asked when and where! Helping to make affordable housing a reality for those who otherwise would not have this opportunity is a vision that Springer’s shares with Habitat. Springer’s has also supported our annual Golf Tournament. We are truly grateful for the many folks who came out to the event and enjoyed, while supporting our organization and our families through purchasing the raffle tickets.”
McGeary added, “Habitat for Humanity is our favorite charity. When Lilly Mullen, president of Springer’s Jewelers asked who we would like to support with our holiday raffle, Habitat was our choice. They do so much great work helping our neighbors to have a forever home. Hearts on Fire donated a beautiful diamond pendant to help in raising money for Habitat.”
