Trailered boats should launch and then park at the Peirce Island ramp prior to their skipper’s meeting time. There is no launch fee for racers. Please avoid blocking the launch ramp for any longer than necessary, as it remains open to the public.
The Gundalow Company’s friendly race is open to paddlers, rowers, and sailors alike and launches from Peirce Island in the south end of Portsmouth, NH.
Spectators of all ages are welcome to attend. This is a fun, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities!
All competitors and spectators with Picnic Tickets are welcome to the afterparty on Four Tree Island with lunch, drinks, and desserts provided.
All proceeds and sponsorships support the Gundalow Company’s mission to “protect the Piscataqua Region’s Maritime Heritage and Environment through Education and Action.”
2023 Round Island Regatta Timeline
1 p.m.: Event setup
1:30 to 3 p.m.: Bracelet and number pickup at the Peirce Island Boat Ramp
2:30 p.m.: Sailboat Skippers Meeting at Peirce Ramp
Class 1 Sail start on the water
2:45 p.m.: Great Little Gundalow Derby on the dock
2:50 p.m.: Youth paddle class skippers meeting and start
3 p.m.: Paddle and Oar Skippers Meeting, All Paddle classes @Peirce Ramp
First: Lady Isle rowers and paddlers start
Second: Round Island rowers and paddlers start
3:45 p.m.: Awards Picnic on Four Tree Island
5 p.m.: Event end
