    Description

Courtney Bent, award winning photographer and filmmaker from Durham, created Shooting Beauty, a community outreach initiative that provides programs aimed at challenging stereotypes that prevent inclusive attitudes and inclusive communities. The 100 Cameras Project places modified camera systems into the hands of people with developmental disabilities throughout the country. Friends in Action, a local nonprofit that creates inclusive social and recreational opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, is the last site. The project allows people with disabilities to develop their own personal voices through photography. The exhibit celebrates the accomplishments of fifteen local photographers with intent of providing personal confidence and empowerment
