Danny Harrington Quartet Jazz Concert

Join in an afternoon of jazz in the historic Wentworth-Gardner Historic House Association warehouse! The Association is very pleased to present the Danny Harrington Quartet. The quartet, led by Danny Harrington (saxophone) with David Newsam (guitar), John Hunter (bass) and Phil McGowan (drums), will play a continuous set of standards, representing the great American songbook of the 20th century.

Baritone saxophonist, Danny Harrington, was born in Providence, Rhode Island and now lives Newburyport, Massachusetts with his wife (Risa) and daughter (Nina). Danny has been teaching and performing in the New England area since 1978. Before joining the faculty at Berklee College, Danny toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of Buddy Morrow. Since then he has performed with Nick Brignola, Gary Burton, Herb Pomeroy, Gary Smulyan, Joe Lovano, George Garzone as well as leading his own group since 1980. Danny has recorded three CD’s as a leader; Risa’s Waltz, Live at the Firehouse Theatre with Tony Germain and The Danny Harrington Quartet Live at the Kiwi Grille. After 42 years he retired as a Professor at Berklee College of Music in May 2021. He was granted the title of Professor Emeritus at that time. Danny is an artist for Vandoren Woodwind Product Paris. He uses their products exclusively.
