Seacoast Eat Local is thrilled to announce that the second annual Eco Day event will take place at the Portsmouth Farmers’ Market on Saturday, Aug. 12.
The Market runs from 8 a.m. to noon just outside City Hall, at 1 Junkins Ave. The Portsmouth Farmers’ Market is already a destination just a short walk from downtown with over 30 vendors, local musicians, and a playground across the street. Eco Day is a special day for learning at the market that will host conservation, sustainability, and eco-minded local organizations as well as offer a kids activity of creating bird feeders from recycled materials.
In addition to the regular market vendors they will have special guests who would love to chat with all market goers about sustainability and their organizations’ work in the region. Guests include the Presenting Sponsor of Eco Day: Green Wave Electric Vehicles, New Hampshire's first and only EV Dealership, as well local organizations including Seacoast Climate Action, League of Conservation Voters, Climate Ambassadors from the City of Portsmouth, and more!
Local food is intimately tied to the health and sustainability of the planet. SEL is so excited to offer this event to educate their shoppers on the connectedness between the health of the planet, community, and one’s self. Stop by the Portsmouth Farmers’ Market on Aug. 12 to learn all about these projects rooted in sustainability, and you might even earn prizes while you do so!
