This October, join us for a book discussion featuring Never Caught, the Story of Ona Judge, (Young Readers Edition) by Erica Armstrong Dunbar and Kathleen Van Cleve. This novel about Ona Judge, a black woman enslaved by George and Martha Washington who escapes to Portsmouth, is recommended for readers ages 9+.
Copies of this book are available to check-out through the Historical Society (or your local library) and can be signed out at the front desk beginning September 18, due back on October 14.
Activities will be inside the Portsmouth Historical Society at 10 Middle Street.
