Families can celebrate a “real” New Year’s Eve together and still get the kids to bed early by attending New Hampshire’s most unique year-end celebration. The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire will be hosting its annual Family New Year’s Eve Celebration on Wednesday, December 31 from 10 am – 3 pm with plenty of daytime merriment for all. The museum’s event is modeled after a festive New Year’s Eve party for adults. Visitors receive noisemakers and can create their own flashy party hats to wear. At 11 am, 12:30 pm and 2 pm, there are spirited “countdowns to midnight” that rivals Times Square celebrations with music and confetti. A glittering ball drops from the top floor of the museum as the last ten seconds of the year are counted down. Each visitor also receives a plastic “champagne flute” of ginger ale to toast the New Year with their family and friends. All New Year’s Eve Celebration activities are included in the regular price of museum admission ($9 for adults and children, $8 for seniors age 65+) and are free for museum members and children under age one.
