Description
Guy Capecelatro III is a beloved Seacoast figure, and a cornerstone of its vibrant cultural scene. He's a prolific singer and songwriter who -- in addition to his too-many-to-count solo efforts -- contributes to the music of The Landladys, Tiger Saw, Unbunny, and many others. He's the undisputed king of the annual RPM Challenge, often writing and recording a half-dozen complete albums in the month of February alone. He was the 2015 Spotlight Award winner for "Best Indie Artist".
He's been a landscaper, dishwasher, lifeguard, busboy, dock builder, record reviewer, painter, cook, chimney sweep, and mason. He co-hosts WSCA's "Writers in the Round" show. He is the creator of "Some Women," a series of tiny narratives he writes for found vintage photographs, first appearing in The Wire newspaper, then collected in a paperback book. He's a wrestler, record label owner, chocolate connoisseur, mixed martial arts enthusiast.
His enthusiasm for, and support of all the creatives on the Seacoast is unmatched. His heart is big, he's an inspiration to all who know him, and he'll be more than a little embarrassed when he reads all this. But, you know what, Guy? DEAL WITH IT. You're a mensch, and we LOVE YOU.
So on November 8th, Guy's birthday, 3S is hosting a big party. For his friends, fans, and strangers alike. At least twelve performers will serenade him with interpretations from his deep, sublime catalog of songs. There will be some surprises. And rounding out the night will be an epic dance party featuring Jason Anderson and the Best playing a set of classic soul and rock and roll.
Come celebrate with us, from friends of Guy, to folks who might have seen him play once, or are familiar with his newspaper features, or just the curious who want to come out for a night of terrific music. There has never been a better time to discover one of Portsmouth's semi-hidden treasures. He'll be the man in the goddamn iron throne with the delicious fruity mocktail.
Performers include: Jason Anderson and the Best, Eastern Mountain Time & Wren Kitz, Elroy, Mara Flynn, Seth Gooby, House Sitter, Jocelyn Mackenzie, Dylan & Mandy Metrano, Gregg Porter, Peter Squires, Twin Disciples, Mike Wolstat, plus special guests!
