Dubbed by Rolling Stone as one of the most consistently good bands of the past 25 years, infusing everything from cocktail jazz to psychedelic noise freakouts to gorgeous acoustic tunes into their music, Yo La Tengo comes to the Historic Theater with two sets: one rock and the other more acoustic. The trio consists of Hoboken, New Jersey, bohemians/ husband and wife team Ira Kaplan (guitars, piano, vocals) and Georgia Hubley (drums, piano, vocals); joined by James McNew (bass, vocals). Renowned for both their original material and their encyclopedic repertoire of cover songs, they have developed one of the biggest fan followings in indie rock.
