The Writer's Workshop at 3S Artspace is for all writers, whether you are seriously tackling a novel, just starting out or somewhere in between.   Improve your writing style and learn new techniques as you actively participate in exercises and examine your writing. Get constructive feedback from your instructor and peers in an encouraging environment that will make you want to keep on writing

Writing for the workplace can be frustrating and sometimes seem like you are missing the mark.  Learn some tips and techniques to improve your business writing to engage your reader and get your message across in an effective and concise manner.  Bring a work in progress to discuss as well as your preferred method of writing (laptop or paper), as we will engage in an exercise to help you make your writing, no offense, a little less boring!  Registration required and space is limited.

Instructor:
Anne Richter Arnold is a freelance journalist and fiction and creative nonfiction writer who lives in Rye, NH.  She has a masters degree from Columbia University and a certificate in creative writing from Wesleyan University. She has also studied creative fiction and nonfiction writing for several years at the Writers Center in Vermont.

An aspiring writer since she was a child, she came to professional writing somewhat later in life, following a dream after pursuing a successful career in business.  She believes that it is never too late to start listening to your creative voice and pursuing your passion for the arts, especially writing.

Anne currently writes Sunday features and performing and visual arts articles for the Portsmouth Herald and the Edge.  For the last few years she has written lifestyle articles for several regional New England magazines and publications.  She previously worked as a journalist for the Vermont Standard where she had two lifestyle columns, “Take it Outside” and “Healthy Living”, and wrote feature interviews on interesting and notable Upper Valley residents.  

On the creative side, Anne is working on several books, a psychological thriller and two history-based fiction projects.  She finds that her journalism background helps create the framework of facts that combines with creative writing to produce compelling works of historical fiction.  Her first book is currently in negotiations with a publisher.

Anne shares her passion with her writing students in one time and multi-week workshops that inspire creativity, instill confidence in your inner writer’s voice and provide feedback and instruction to help improve and hone your skills.
