    Description

Prescott Park Arts Festival collaborates with Portsmouth’s new Poet Laureate Mike Nelson, and the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Program to present Poets in the Park this summer.

Every Thursday, prior to the Mary Poppins performance, enjoy a talented array of local poets from our stage. With family, Portsmouth History and some fun in mind, they will present a variety of work that focuses on the women of today and the past who have influenced our lives in Portsmouth and the Seacoast region.

Mike Nelson is the organizer and host of The Press Room's Beat Night, and current Poet Laureate of Portsmouth. His ultimate dream is to become a gnome that lives in the nook of an old tree deep in the forest, swim with frogs in vernal pools, live on honey and blueberries, and be friends with all the animals.
