You are invited to join register to join us at Gather Cafe at Great Bay Community College on Wednesday, April 19 from noon to 1 p.m. The Cafe opened in September 2022 to provide donated meals to food insecure students along with affordable, convenient, healthy food options on campus. GBCC and Gather’s partnership recognizes and fills a need to reduce hunger among students
The Lunch Mixer will follow a similar format to our very popular Morning Mixer program but will take place over lunchtime. There is no admission charge and food/drinks are not included but will be available for purchase from the restaurant. (The food is terrific!)
This is a great opportunity for folks who would like to participate in networking events but are not able to join us for the Morning Mixer or Business After Hours.
Please note that advanced registration is required so our hosts can be ready for us.
“I don’t always have time for breakfast or lunch due to my class and work schedule. I love that I can go into Gather Café and get something healthy to eat. It’s also refreshing to go in and have the staff recognize me and ask how class, clinical or work is going. I wish there were more places like Gather Café.” -GBCC Nursing Student
Gather's mission: To offer innovative programs that build food security in welcoming and dignified ways
Gather has been serving Seacoast residents facing hunger for 200 years. The non-profit was founded in 1816 by a group of women dedicated to feeding the families of fishermen
Gather's focus is to provide nutritious food through innovative distribution programs, including 'mobile markets' where food travels in refrigerated trucks to Seacoast towns from Rochester to Seabrook
Each month Gather touches more than 8,000 food insecure people and re-distributes over 2 million pounds of food annually
A high percentage of Great Bay Community College students are food insecure. The Gather Cafe offers nutritional, nourishing breakfast and lunch items to students at a 50 percent discount (off already very reasonable prices!) along with providing a welcoming gathering spot that encourages community and assists students in meeting their academic goals.
