Description
Seattle born and current Brooklyn resident singer songwriter, McClain Sullivan was born to sing. "I could sing before I could talk!", she says. Not only does she sing but she has also been playing guitar since the tender age of twelve which enables her to deftly deliver passionate songs that come from her heart. Her voice has an honest emotional component that is matched by few, especially in today's manufactured pop culture. After finishing high school , McClain attended The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music where she realized that her destiny was to be in the music business.
After moves from Seattle to NYC to Wilmington, NC and back to New York, her travels and experiences are the fuel which cause her songs to burn into your psyche. Within her tunes, you can hear her struggle, her triumph, and her questioning as you will begin to explore the depths of this complex and gifted artist. Citing artists as varied as Sarah Vaughn, Ani Difranco, and Erykah Badu, Sullivan shows homage to her influences while forging her own sound and style. In the past few years, McClain's music has taken her everywhere from NYC to Italy and many points in between. Fans of true soul music will not be disappointed. Your champion has arrived. Her name is McClain Sullivan.....
Singer/songwriter Seth Adam is well known for his passionate live performances. The alt-country, rootsy rocker draws comparisons to Counting Crows, Will Hoge, and Son Volt. His last studio release, "Amplify" (2010) was described by New Haven Advocate writer James Velvet as "This 10-song full-length is beautifully written, played and produced. This level of craftsmanship and polish are not often heard on the local scene." Never one to rely on the norms of the music industry, this self-described "scrapper" takes a page out of the Lucinda Williams instruction book by performing frequently and writing deeply personal, heartfelt rock & roll songs. He has shared the stage with Grammy-winning Robert Cray, Tonic, Vertical Horizon, Carbon Leaf, The Alternate Routes, Will Hoge, Gary Louris (The Jayhawks), and Mayer Hawthorne, has had a song licensed to Volkswagen, and was described by entertainment columnist Roger Friedman as "the hardest-working best live act in indie rock." Seth, along with Gerry Giaimo, John Jackson, and a cast of studio musicians, are currently preparing to release the third studio album, titled "Steel Tempered Pride," projected to release in September of 2013.
