Portsmouth Peace Treaty at 3:47 pm September 5, 1905 The citizens of New Hampshire are called upon "to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies."
Following the reading of the Governor's Proclamation
by Mayor Blalock at 3:30 pm and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard salute,
traditional bell-ringing takes place at 3:47 pm in Market Square, Portsmouth at Portsmouth Peace Treaty Living Memorial Cherry Tree sites and elsewhere around the state.
