Celebrate and honor the fabulous music and artistry of three of the greatest jazz pianists in the world—Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson, and Art Tatum, whose music, style, and compositions have influenced jazz and captivated us for more than 100 years.
During this new show, Jason Anick, an extraordinary and creative jazz violinist, will partner with longtime collaborator and friend Matt DeChamplain, a fantastic multi- faceted pianist well-versed in jazz, to perform some of some of the most well-known and iconic compositions of Ellington, Peterson, and Tatum. Joining Jason and Matt will be Gregory Toro who will complete the Trio by providing the all-important bass notes, as together they honor and bring alive at The Press Room three great gems of jazz. You may hear Duke’s “Caravan,” Oscar’s “Noreen’s Nocturne,” Art’s “Tea for Two,” and other signature compositions as the Trio alternates the spotlight on violin and piano while bringing it altogether with the bass.
This event is sponsored by the nonprofit Seacoast Jazz Society as part of its “2025 Jazz All-Stars Series.” For more information about this event and the Society, go to: https://www.seacoastjazz.org.
