Summer In The Street is the result of an initiative to identify/create pedestrian-friendly areas downtown where musicians, theatrical and dance companies can entertain folks in the heart of the City.

Pleasant Street from Porter Street to Market Square closes from 4:00pm – 9:00pm (performances are 5:30 – 8:30) Saturdays on designated weekends during the Summer.

The event, now in its eighteenth year, creates a gathering spot in the heart of Portsmouth for friends, neighbors and visitors alike.

(NOTE: Summer in the Street is not a vendor/booth-driven event – that’s the profile of Market Square Day.)
