The Scott Mullett Trio is a versatile and energetic jazz trio led by saxophonist Scott Mullett, a veteran of Woody Herman and Artie Shaw's big bands that has also shared the stage with Stan Getz, Aretha Franklin, and many more. Scott is accompanied by two of his former students, bassist Steve Cady and drummer George Robinson. The trio occasionally joined by acclaimed pianist and Berklee professor Russell Hoffmann to add another dynamic and color to the group.
The Trio's extensive repertoire ranges from classic jazz standards and selections from the Great American Songbook to more contemporary artists such as Cedar Walton, Chick Corea, Bob Berg, Freddie Hubbard and more. Be it a soft ballad, rhythmic latin groove or burning swing tempo, the Scott Mullett Trio aims to entertain its audience while exploring the infinite possibilities and avenues of jazz music.
The Trio's has performed as part of the Keene Jazz Orchestra (directed by Scott Mullett) for nearly a decade, and has shared the stage with top-tier guest soloists such as trumpeter Frank Greene (David Letterman Show, Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Band, Maria Schneider Orchestra), trombonist Steve Davis (Chick Corea Origin Project, Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Band, Stevie Wonder), trombonist Jeff Galindo, clarinetist Dick Johnson (Artie Shaw Orchestra), multi-instrumentalist Bill Prince (Buddy Rich Orchestra), vibraphonist/harmonica player Hendrik Muerkins, and renown Boston-are vocalists Amanda Carr and Christine Fawson.
