Priscilla Serafin, an oil painter who is inspired by the natural landscape, focuses on light, water and coastal marshes. Working in oil, she begins on location to capture a sense of light and then further explores the line between abstraction and representation in her studio. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts from West Virginia University in 1984 and in 1986 completed her Masters of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Yale University. As an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont she has studied with Wolf Kahn, and Suzanne Coffey. Her award-winning work has been featured at the Ipswich Museum and is regularly exhibited in shows on the North Shore. "We're looking forward to having Priscilla as our featured artist fort his Art 'Round Town event," says Valerie Stainton, owner of Valerie's Gallery. "We love the combination of her graphic design aesthetic with her paintings. Her paintings are full of color and natural beauty."
