  • Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café Celebrates 25 Years in Downtown Portsmouth

Guests invited to join the celebration with a champagne toast, limited-time dishes, and a look back at the memories that made the restaurant a local favorite

PORTSMOUTH— Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café, a cornerstone of Portsmouth’s vibrant dining scene since 2000, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the restaurant is inviting guests to be part of the celebration with a series of special events, limited-time offerings, and a look back at the stories that shaped its legacy.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, the restaurant will host a complimentary champagne toast to thank the community for 25 years of support and help kick off a year of celebration.

“We wouldn’t be here without our loyal guests and dedicated team,” says Owner, Jay McSharry. “This celebration is all about honoring the people and memories that have shaped the last 25 years.”

    Anniversary Highlights Include:

    Guest Survey and Story Collection
Jumpin’ Jay’s is asking guests to share what the restaurant means to them. From first dates to family traditions, these stories will help shape the anniversary celebration. Guests can also vote on which classic dishes they’d like to see return for a limited time. The survey is available at jumpinjays.com or by following along on social media.

    Throwback Dish Series
Throughout the year, the kitchen will bring back favorite dishes from years past, each featured for a limited time. The menu will be shaped by guest feedback, with the first dish debuting this summer.

    Liars Bench Collaboration Beer
A summer beer collaboration with Liars Bench Beer Company is in the works. More details will be announced soon.

    25th Anniversary Merchandise
A new celebratory design will appear on limited-edition t-shirts and tote bags, available for purchase at the restaurant while supplies last.

    Restaurant Refresh
To mark the milestone, Jumpin’ Jay’s recently updated its space with new interior and exterior paint and artwork repurposed from its sister restaurant, The Franklin, which closed in March.
