    Solo & Group Exhibitions

Visual Diaries - Group Photography Exhibition

Visual Diaries is an exhibition by the NHAA Photography Group featuring 17 member artists who explore the book as a vessel for memory, thought, and creative life. Inspired by John Milton’s reflection that “books are not absolutely dead things,” the exhibition showcases handmade artist books that merge photography, materiality, and personal vision. Using processes ranging from digital printing to cyanotype and mixed media, the artists transform personal memory into enduring form, inviting viewers to experience photography as a living dialogue between artist, viewer, and time.

Returning to a Place by Karen Fazekas - Oil Paintings

Returning to a Place is a solo exhibition by Portsmouth painter Karen Fazekas. Known for her expressive plein air oil paintings, Fazekas captures the shifting light and atmosphere of New England’s coastal towns through a balance of realism and abstraction. Working with a limited palette of just three pigments, she embraces a painterly, intuitive approach that celebrates color, movement, and discovery. Her work invites viewers to rediscover the familiar beauty of the Seacoast and the harmony between built and natural environments.

House of Pizza by Emily Cady - Printmaking and Clay Sculpture

House of Pizza is an exhibition by artist Emily Cady that transforms New England’s beloved pizzerias into symbols of local identity, endurance, and connection. Through prints, risographs, ceramics, and a zine, Cady captures the spirit of these family-run establishments—community landmarks that nourish both body and belonging. Drawing on interviews with shop owners and her own background as a baker, Cady’s work blends humor, nostalgia, and social reflection, celebrating how something as simple as a pizza shop can embody care, resilience, and hometown pride.
